PETRIE RUMBLINGS
The ‘Petrie Rumblings’ is the Parents’ and Citizens Association’s official news publication and is most recently published fortnightly (on the alternate week to the school’s ‘Petrie Log’). The newsletter is the P&C’s main form of communication.
It is not clear when it began circulating, although it was after the ‘Petrie Log’ started at the beginning of the 1980s. The publication was originally known as ‘Between the Logs’, referring to its alternate publication week to the school newsletter. However it was decided in 1987 to rename the newsletter to ‘Petrie Rumblings’, possibly due to confusion as the names were so similar.
1987: ‘BETWEEN THE LOGS’ NOW ‘PETRIE RUMBLINGS’
“P&C ‘Between the Logs’ newsletter became ‘Petrie Rumblings’.”
– Peter J Boge, 1999 – Principal, 1 Jan 1983 – 31 Dec 1990.
